Discover Scuba DIving

Earning an Enriched Air Diver certification helps fulfill every diver’s desire for more bottom time.   For example, the no decompression limit is 80 minutes when diving to 50 feet on air.  However, if you made the same dive using EANx36 the maximum allowable bottom time it is almost tripled to 220 minutes.   While bottom time is expanded surface intervals are shortened so you can get back in the water sooner than an air diver.   In addition, many people state that they feel  less tired after multiple repetitive dives when breathing  enriched air.  As a result, diving Enriched Air, also called Nitrox, has become extremely popular.    Most resorts and just about every live-aboard charter offers enriched air, and equipment manufacturers have been producing equipment suited to enriched air diving with EANx40 right out of the box for many years.
The PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty certification emphasizes the theoretical and operational considerations involved with enriched air diving. Included is familiarization of EAN dive tables and computers, use of Oxygen sensors, and specific procedures for safely diving EAN.   You will learn preparation and diving procedures involved with enriched air diving.
This course can begin during your open water course, your advanced course or as a stand-alone specialty.  The Enriched Air Diver Specialty course counts toward the Master Scuba Diver certification.
